Odumodublvck Speaks Out on the High Level of Stream Farming in Nigeria.
Rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, also known as Odumodublvck, has complained about “stream farming” in the Nigerian music industry.
He made the assertion about X.
He claims that streams are modified to increase bookings and ticket sales.
On his X handle, Odumodublvck wrote, “There’s a high level of stream farming going on in the Nigerian music industry.
“Farming is crazy cause it’s not translating into shows. It’s not translating into bookings and ticket sales home and abroad. So, what’s the point?”
Another rapper, Blaqbonez, has often stated that some artists manipulate streams using streaming farms, particularly on the Apple Music Nigeria charts.
However, in a 2023 interview, well-known Nigerian music mogul Don Jazzy denied the existence of such technology, claiming that there was no such thing as a “streaming farm”.
Despite Don Jazzy’s expulsion, suspicions of streaming farms have persisted in the Nigerian music industry, both among industry practitioners and spectators.
