A Nigerian medical doctor, identified as Tony, has reportedly died after consuming a drink allegedly poisoned by a kinsman.
The tragic incident occurred on Boxing Day in Nenu, Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.
According to a Facebook post by a friend of the deceased, Prince Agbara, the suspected culprit fled the village with his family after the doctor passed away.
Agbara expressed his grief, writing,
“This is disheartening. Someone who was alive and healthy on the 25th was poisoned through a drink on the 26th. He vomited and that was it—by his own kinsman. Upon realizing my friend had died, the person responsible fled with his family.”
The incident has sparked sadness and outrage within the community, with many calling for justice for the late doctor.
