Jayden Daniels wins 2024 AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has been honored with the 2024 AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award, following a remarkable debut season. Daniels received 49 out of 50 first-place votes, underscoring his significant impact on the league.

Selected as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Daniels quickly established himself as a dynamic force in Washington’s offense. He amassed 3,568 passing yards and 25 touchdowns, achieving a passer rating of 100.1. Demonstrating his dual-threat capabilities, Daniels also rushed for 891 yards and six touchdowns, setting a new NFL record for rushing yards by a rookie quarterback.

Under Daniels’ leadership, the Commanders secured 12 regular-season victories and advanced to the NFC Championship Game, marking their deepest playoff run in decades. His exceptional performance not only revitalized the franchise but also garnered him a Pro Bowl selection in his inaugural season.
