JAY-Z is making a high-stakes gamble on the NBA Finals.

The former Brooklyn Nets co-owner has placed a $1 million bet via Fanatics Sportsbook, predicting that the Oklahoma City Thunder will beat the Indiana Pacers in just five games.

If his prediction is correct, JAY-Z stands to win over $3 million.

However, with the Pacers already securing a victory in Game 1, the music mogul now needs the Thunder to win four consecutive games to cash in on his wager.

Jay is also a partner in Fanatics Sportsbook and maintains several business collaborations with its founder, Michael Rubin.

The Roc Nation founder is also known for hosting high-stakes blackjack tournaments, often to support the REFORM Alliance — an organization he co-founded with Michael Rubin.

In September 2023, JAY-Z and Meek Mill organized a lavish, star-studded event to raise funds for the cause. The James Bond-themed party attracted some of the biggest names in Hip Hop.

According to Page Six, the blackjack tournament took place in Atlantic City, NJ, on September 30, 2023, and featured celebrity guests like Tom Brady, Kim Kardashian, Lala Anthony, and more. The buy-in was \$100,000 per player, with all proceeds benefiting the criminal justice reform initiative.

The night also included live performances by Quavo and Travis Scott, with other high-profile figures like Derek Jeter in attendance.

Page Six reported that between 10 to 15 helicopters were used to transport guests from New York City airports to Atlantic City over the course of the evening.

“It was Jay’s idea to create a very intimate, ultra-exclusive event with some of the most influential people in the world,” a source shared. “This isn’t the kind of party you can buy your way into.”

JAY-Z has also been eyeing the casino industry, proposing the launch of a gambling venue in Times Square.

The Brooklyn-born billionaire has teamed up with SL Green and Caesars Entertainment to develop a stylish, boutique casino at the 1515 Broadway office tower—already owned by SL Green, New York City’s largest commercial landlord.

As part of the deal, JAY-Z and his team will be responsible for curating entertainment at 1515 Broadway, along with SL Green’s six other Times Square properties.

However, he’s not alone in the race for the casino license—his longtime rival Nas and his business partners are also vying for the opportunity.
